Duties: Administer, test, and implement computer databases, applying knowledge of database management systems. install Oracle RDBMS software and configure oracle databases on Linux operating system; install, configure, and administer Clusterware for Standalone & Real Application Clusters (RAC) databases; administer Exadata, Oracle Database Administration (ODA), RAC databases; configure database backups and ensure restorable backups are present at all times; apply quarterly security/bug fix patches and one-off patches as required; work with multiple storage solutions where Oracle DB hosted; administer RDBMS on various operating systems; install and configure any replication technologies both uni-directional and bi-directional; perform tuning of the database and sql/plsql - Database Partitioning & Sharding; configure and administer Transparent Data Encryption (TDE); administer and manage AWS Cloud instance provisions for database; provide high availability solutions and ensure the database is available in cases of disaster; upgrade the RDBMS versions to Support .NET applications; collaborate with application teams for design of tables and troubleshoot ongoing issues; and implement automated data purging based on the retention requirements.
Requirements: Employer will accept Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field, followed by five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in job offered or five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in a related occupation. Experience must include one year of experience with each of the following:
1) Oracle SQL/PLSQL;
2) Oracle Database Administration (DBA);
8) Oracle Database Appliance (ODA); and
9) Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC).
Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.
