PenFed is hiring a Team Lead, Salesforce Administrator at our Eugene, Oregon; Alexandria, Virginia; Omaha, Nebraska or San Antonio, Texas locations. This agent will be a part of a highly diverse team of individuals who support the internal end users with all things Salesforce.  Incumbent will oversee a small team of Salesforce Administrators, who will support a specific stakeholder group within PenFed.  The Administrators will familiarize themselves with their group’s business processes and goals, conducting regular meetings with their group to prioritize new work orders, troubleshoot reported issues, or provide interactive user training.  This individual will also be responsible for providing performance evaluations and feedback, ensuring the Administrator team has the resources and training to perform their duties.  This individual will serve in a people-management capacity, as well as on a technical level, reviewing configuration changes for impact & serving on the approval board for new content related to PenFed’s ongoing Salesforce implementations.

  • Provide mentoring, support and review of work completed by direct reports, documenting performance, and delivering performance feedback.

  • Administer stated objectives, goals, and performance standards for Salesforce Administrators in assigned team and assist in ensuring that goals are met or exceeded.

  • Provide input to the Manager, Business Applications, regarding hiring, staffing, disciplinary action, and training for Salesforce Support Team members.

  • Supervise a team of Salesforce Administrators daily to include establishing goals, priorities and expected performance level of the team.

  • Participate in on-call 24x7 support as needed in the event of a system outage or failure.

  • Support compliance with the records, information, and knowledge management requirements of the organization.

  • Work closely with technical and non-technical personnel within and across PenFed departments and vendors.

  • Remain an active learner in technologies related to your domain.

  • Participate in the planning and design of an enterprise Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan.

  • Comply with Security, Incident Management and Change Management procedures and reporting practices.

  • Triaging reported issues for designated stakeholder/user groups, ensuring they are properly documented and routed to the appropriate group and escalating when appropriate.

  • Functions as an advanced Administrator, answering end-user questions and providing templated materials or ad-hoc training session.  May also be asked how to tackle more advanced and complex issues or questions escalated from an Administrator.

  • Ensures sufficient monthly (or regular) touchpoint meetings with assigned administrator’s stakeholder groups, collecting feedback and understanding the status of work assigned to each of their admins.

  • Tracking/updating various platforms to ensure awareness across key parties and end of month reporting for performance metrics.

  • Ad-hoc peer reviewing of content compiled by the business analysis team, offering feedback to ensure the requirements make sense from the context of the business as well as from the Salesforce Administration team.

  • Serving on the approval board for content submitted by assigned administrators, prior to publishing for general use.

  • Ongoing training expected, as the admin team is expected to be well-apprised of the latest Salesforce features/functionality, as well as an expected subject matter expertise rating in an area deemed pertinent to the enterprise (including profiling/permissions, reports/dashboards, community/experience administration, etc.)

  • Carry out regular internal Salesforce system audits and upgrades.

  • Contribute to organizational controls and best practices, identifying gaps and proposing solutions or alternatives.

  • Reviews configurations and commits changes to appropriate GitHub repository, ensuring proper change management processes have been completed.

Qualifications

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ of related experience is required in Information technology, Salesforce, and/or financial services.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ of experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Experience working/administering a Salesforce organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of users with varying levels of knowledge/understanding
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Teams, Visio, Excel, Word, Power Point, email)
  • Strong organizational skills required
  • Excellent business communication skills and ability to multi-task are critical.

This position will supervise employees.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Salesforce Certification: Administrator (required)
  • Salesforce Certification: Advanced Administrator (preferred)
  • Salesforce Certification: Platform App Builder (preferred)
  • Salesforce Certification: Service Cloud Consultant (preferred)

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

*Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.*

Travel

Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call may be required.
